Turkey Trademark Renewal

A trademark in Turkey is valid for 10 years from the date of application. It can be renewed indefinitely for additional 10-year periods.

• Renewal window: Begins 6 months before the expiration date
• Grace period: 6 months after expiration
• After grace period: The trademark automatically lapses, and restoration is not possible

• No Power of Attorney (PoA) required unless:
• Partial renewal
• Withdrawal of applications or oppositions
• Proof of use is not required
• Renewal is published in the Official Trademark Bulletin

• Restoration is not allowed
• Lapsed trademarks may be re-registered by third parties
• Original owners may oppose re-registration within 2 years, especially if they continue to use the mark
