Trademark rights in Uganda are governed by the Trade Marks Act No. 17 of 2010 and administered by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). Uganda is not a member of the Madrid System, so all trademarks must be registered and renewed locally.
Trademarks in Uganda are valid for 7 years from the filing date, and can be renewed for successive 10-year terms.
