Trademarks are valid for 10 years from the filing date and are renewable indefinitely for additional 10-year terms.

When Must You Renew a Trademark?

  • Standard renewal window: Begins on the expiration date
  • Grace period: 10 months after expiration
  • After grace period: Trademark may still be renewed, but only upon surcharge
