Trademark protection in Niger is governed through its membership in the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI). Under the Bangui Agreement (as revised in 2015), all trademarks are filed and renewed centrally through the OAPI system; national registrations are not possible.
Trademarks registered via OAPI, including Niger, are valid for 10 years from the filing date and are renewable indefinitely for additional 10-year terms.
Renewals are submitted to OAPI and published in their Official Bulletin.
