Trademark protection in Mali is administered through the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), under the Bangui Agreement (as revised in Bamako in 2015). National filings are not permitted, as all trademarks must be filed and renewed through OAPI, headquartered in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Trademarks registered through OAPI, which includes Mali, are valid for 10 years from the application date and can be renewed indefinitely for successive 10-year periods.
Renewals are processed centrally by OAPI and published in their Official Bulletin.
