In Belize, trademarks are registered with the Belize Intellectual Property Office (BELIPO) and must be renewed every 10 years to maintain protection.
Failure to renew on time results in automatic lapse, but there is a grace period for late renewals with a surcharge. If the trademark is not renewed within the grace period, it cannot be restored and must be re-registered.
A trademark registration in Belize is valid for ten (10) years from the date of application. It can be renewed indefinitely for additional 10-year periods
