Trademark protection in Venezuela is governed by the 1956 Industrial Property Law, reinstated in full effect as of September 12, 2008, and managed by the Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property (SAPI). Venezuela is not part of the Madrid Protocol, and all trademarks must be filed and renewed locally.
A trademark registration is valid for 15 years from the date of registration, and may be renewed indefinitely in 15-year increments.
